i build ai tools, get curious about the math underneath them, and make small stuff just to see what happens.

i'm avyaya. i study computer science and engineering at ucla and i'm into ai, software, and whatever math is hiding underneath it. this is basically where i dump the stuff i make and the questions it leaves me with

most of my projects put a model in front of something real, flagging risk signals in student writing, judging exercise form from video, planning meals from a fixed dataset. honestly most of the actual work is around the model, not in it, stuff like baselines, evaluation, and figuring out what the tool should do when it's just wrong

outside my own projects i run a free coding and math tutoring program

before ucla i took calculus, differential equations, and linear algebra at ohlone college

- founded the whole thing and recruited and managed 15+ tutors, coordinating recurring sessions
- wrote curricula across multiple levels in python, java, c++, web dev, and math
- teach students anywhere from middle school through college

Technology intern
helped build a market-intelligence dashboard that flags big price moves and surfaces the news behind them
- worked with the engineering team on a react and vite dashboard with tradingview charts built for investment-analysis workflows
- built and deployed a scheduled node.js, express, and postgres pipeline that pulls in price and news data and writes claude-generated, source-linked summaries of what might have moved a price
- asset managers use it to look at how prices moved around past news events

Hackathons at James Logan High School · Organizer. organized 4 hackathons drawing 350+ total attendees, and led a 6-person team across challenge design, marketing, and day-of logistics sponsored by servicenow and the union city gurdwara, with actual software developers from servicenow showing up to help
